Furthest away from the casinos, this spot is the most “hole-in-the-wall” Vietnamese restaurant in Atlantic City.
Pho Cali is the cheapest of the Vietnamese spots in Atlantic City, off the beaten path in a tiny storefront restaurant on Ventnor Avenue.
The menu includes phở and other soups, steamed “broken rice” dishes, rice vermicelli plates (bún), and bánh mi, the fresh baguette Vietnamese sandwiches. My wife and I visited in the morning on our way out of town. We split one plate of fried egg rolls and grilled pork over vermicelli (bún cha bio, thit nuong) and ordered a bánh mi to go. The vermicelli was good, but the egg rolls were quite greasy. Pho Cali makes a decent bánh mi, but it was not as tasty as the sandwich we picked up 15 minutes later, at Hủ Tiếu Miền Tây, before hopping on the Parkway headed North.
