Sabor Peru’s food is the real deal – authentic Peruvian dishes in a casual neighborhood setting. Everything we’ve tried is excellent – Yuca a la Huancaina, with a creamy, slightly spicy sauce; fresh, lime marinated Ceviche with steamed sweet potato; and a heaping dish of Chaufa (Peruvian fried rice). The chaufa at Sabor Peru is my wife’s favorite fried rice in New Jersey, Peruvian or Chinese; and she loves fried rice. The portions are large, so order accordingly.
The restaurant is a comfortable storefront spot facing a local park, and seems to attract a loyal local following. If you haven’t sampled real Peruvian food in Jersey, Sabor Peru is the perfect place to start.
