Chinese

When I was growing up, Chinese take-out was ethnic food. Nothing seemed more “exotic” than Moo Goo Gai Pan. Now I’m on the lookout for sizzling Sichuan dishes, Shanghainese soup dumplings, Dim Sum cart service, and savory Taiwanese snacks in New Jersey. Even better if the English menu is as long as the Mandarin or Cantonese one, and the server offers everyone chopsticks before forks.

Middlesex, Bergen and Hudson Counties have the most Chinese residents, the second-largest Asian ancestry group in New Jersey after Asian Indians.

Don’t see your favorite spot for Chinese food? Share yours, and I’ll add the most popular to the list, and to the map.
