The bridge between North and South America, Central American food reflects Latin American (both Mexican and South American), Caribbean and indigenous culinary influences, with a heavy dose of fresh tropical ingredients. Costa Rican cuisine is my personal favorite, and gets separate treatment at EthnicNJ.com given our family connections (my wife is Costa Rican).

New Jersey’s large Central American communities  make excellent Salvadoran, Guatemalan and Honduran food easy to find. Nicaraguan and Panamanian food is more challenging, but must be here too. Anyone know of  Belizean food in Jersey? Share your favorite spots below and help build EthnicNJ.com.
